OpenSearch

I’ve implemented OpenSearch descriptions. This lets Firefox 2.0 and 3.0 alphas and nightlies to auto-detect the search fields and allow you to add them to the Search Box. This will let various other programs do similar (or different, I guess) things. This is how the Web should work - browsers should be able to gleam data out of pages and do useful things in chrome UI. Had this been invented 10 years ago, it probably would’ve been like IE’s add bookmark prompt.

    I got this error code:
Bon Echo could not download the search plugin from:
    http://userstyles.org/style/opensearch-text.xml
    http://userstyles.org/style/opensearch-url.xml

Please try again or contact the author.

    This is pretty old, but…

    Lou, that’s because they’re relative links with they shouldn’t be. They’re actually at http://userstyles.org/opensearch-text.xml and http://userstyles.org/opensearch-url.xml .

Or, at least, incorrect relative links are being used..
